GET TO KNOW ME

My Professional
Experience

After receiving my Bachelor's from Colorado College, I worked as a research assistant at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center under the NIMH Head Start / CU Child Study grant - a research, development, and evaluation initiative advancing early learning and care. I served as a project coordinator for the NICHD Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development, tracking child and family characteristics to deepen the understanding of how family environment and non-maternal care arrangements shape developmental outcomes.

Through this work, I discovered how inequalities deeply influence human development. I became especially passionate about the unique experiences of families with young children in under-resourced communities who face structural inequalities with less access to robust support. This passion is what led me to social work, and eventually, a career path in therapy.

At United South End Settlements, I led an Early Childhood Initiative — creating a peer learning and support program. I later went on to Mary's Place, where I worked with unhoused and low-income young adults and their families offering support resources and advocating for community investment.

My journey into social work is fundamentally grounded in advocacy and community support, aligning with my own commitment to justice. I received my Master's of Social Work from the University of Washington, where I worked with college-aged individuals facing significant mental health challenges including chronic depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, and substance use issues. I provide therapeutic support with an anti-oppression framework. I have received advanced training at the Center for Object Relations (COR) and from the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.

I'm an LGBTQIA+ affirming provider, and my approach is rooted in anti-racism and social justice principles.

I also possess lived experience holding space when things feel impossible and making sense of suffering.

My Personal Journey

As a reader of people's lives, I endeavor to honor the journey to uncovering their hopes, challenges, and resilience. I focus on identifying the positive, the aspects outside the self, and the paths of becoming a friend.

I'm a white, cisgender, able-bodied woman and a proud mother of a beautiful little girl who challenges me, demands all my patience, teaches me how to love in the most profound way, and makes me a better human. I'm a daughter of immigrants who survived generational trauma, loss, and the upheaval of moving to an unknown country. My background and lived experiences have shaped the values I bring to my practice and the way I interact with the world around me. And, as your therapist, I bring this deep, embodied empathy into our work together.
